Working Current
Principle: The working current of air carbon arc gouging carbon rods is related to the diameter of the carbon rods. Carbon rods of different diameters can withstand different currents. If the current is too high, it may cause the carbon rods to burn out, and if the current is too low, it may not be possible to achieve the desired gouging effect.
Selection Method: Select according to the power of the specific air carbon arc gouging equipment and the thickness and hardness of the material to be processed. Generally speaking, for thinner and softer materials, carbon rods with a smaller diameter and a lower current can be selected. For example, for a carbon rod with a diameter of 6mm, the working current may be around 300A. For thick plates or materials with higher hardness, carbon rods with a larger diameter and capable of withstanding a higher current are required. For example, for a carbon rod with a diameter of 10mm, the working current can reach 500A or even higher
